Sara Jane Plavchan, age 3, of Front Royal, VA passed away in her sleep at home on Thursday, March 26, 2009 after a year long battle with histiocytosis.

A Mass of the Angels will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at 11:30 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 120 W. Main Street, Front Royal, VA with Father Richard Carr as celebrant. Interment will follow in Panorama Memorial Gardens.

Sara was born in Winchester, VA on August 29, 2005. She is the beloved daughter of Stephen J. and Laurie S. Plavchan; beloved sister of Kara Lynn; beloved granddaughter of Ronald J. and Jo-Anne E. Plavchan and of Douglas R. and Joann Firman, all of Springfield, VA. She is also survived by her uncles Jeff, Brian (Jennifer), and Kevin Firman; and her aunt Kristin (Thomas) Blundell of West River, MD; and her cousins Isabelle and Zachary Firman and Marley and Mackenzie Blundell.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 31, 2009 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., the time of the mass, at St. John the Baptist Church.

Sarah is the daughter of Brother Knight Stephen Plavchan and the granddaughter of Council Advocate FDD/PGK Ronald Plavchan.
